4.5–I want a road trip like that–stars
Waiting For You is an amazing book that will have you rooting for Bailey and Dylan from the moment you are introduced to them. I was so taken with this book that I couldn’t put it down. I am one very sleep deprived woman–bed at 1-ish and up at 6 to read, read, read. I promise you that you will fall in love just like I did!
Bailey and Dylan are neighbors who played with each other when they were young but for reasons explained in the book lost contact. Bailey is a very sheltered girl whose parents have planned out her life and she has had zero opportunity to make ANY kind of decision for herself. Having to always be perfect and act a certain way Bailey has reached her limit. Dylan is a lost boy who suffered a great loss at a young age and has tried to fill a void ever since. Both looking for something more/different then their quiet town and screwed up families flee together to find out what the road has to offer.
Their journey is a beautiful one filled with learning, discoveries, love, friendship, fun, and just living in the moment. They are two teenagers on the run from everyone and everything. They do what they want when they want it and they get to make their own decisions and for Bailey this is something brand new for her. What does she really want? This is a question she will have to eventually answer.

We all know things can’t be all sunshine and butterflies so they do have their struggles, tests, and a secret that is hanging over them that one of them is aware of and the other will be floored when it is revealed. I love that the author keeps you guessing. I really thought I knew what the “secret” was but then she throws in some doubt and I was questioning everything again. I love that! I hate predictable. I won’t reveal if my original assumption was right but what I will tell you is that the ramifications from this secret is pretty big.
I did a lot of self-talk through some parts reminding myself that it has to all be okay…right? Shay Stahl bravo you did an excellent job keeping me guessing–which is really hard to do. I can usually figure most of a story out pretty quickly but I really thought twice about this secret. I knew then I didn’t then I was SURE I knew…wait, wait not sure again. Ha Ha!!
Go read this book! You too will fall in love with Dylan and Bailey!! 🙂
